Hello and welcome to Littlefurrypets.com, our one-stop online resource for all small pet owners.
Our aim is simple. We hope to provide all the information you need to not only keep your pets happy and healthy but to get the maximum enjoyment that comes with parenting these little furry friends.
My Name is Donna, and with the help of a few friends and family, I decided to create a website where I could collate all the information, hints, tips and tricks I have picked up through years of keeping pets.
Times have changed since my first pet rabbits (more on that later) which was oh so long ago now. Back then, you got all your information through your friends, family, the vet and the library.
Nowadays there is a whole host of information at your fingertips, most good, some not so good, but all with the best intentions I’m sure.
My First Pets
My first pets were a pair of Rabbits called Sandy and Candy when I was aged 2, and it was they who started my love of pet keeping. I would sit out in the yard for hours just watching and playing with them
I was lucky enough that my Nan had a small farm and kept a number of animals; Horses, Goats, Chickens and my very own Shetland Pony called Dobbin, who I used to show.
Moving into my teens, and being that bit older, I went into town one day and came back with two Terrapins, much to my parent’s delight.
To be honest, they didn’t mind that much – They are both animal lovers and we always had a dog around the house. Max, a black labrador was my best friend growing up. Even when I was older, without my own pets, I would look forward to getting home and being greeted by Max and his wagging tail.
The Next Chapter
Now I have my own family but luckily they share my love for animals (Did they have a choice?)
With my two sons, we have had two pairs of Guinea Pigs, Maisey and Daisey and Barnie and Bling-Bling, a hamster called Alvin, and
So, as you can see, I have had a lot of pets, and I hope that through this website, I can share my love and enthusiasm for pets and offer some of the knowledge I have picked up along the way.
I have to point out though – I’m not a vet and have no training in this field. My pet-keeping, along with this website, is purely a hobby. We put a lot of effort into our blogs, but they are for entertainment only, both ours and yours, and should be no way taken as a substitute for advice from a veterinarian or professional.
With that bit out the way, I hope you enjoy our site. Thanks for visiting. If you have any comments, questions or would just like to show off your own little furry pets, please do get in touch, either through comments on our blogs, using the contact us page, or via a social media pages.
